Anyone who has ever submitted an app for bada AppStore knows the most: It makes an awful lot of trouble with the app, it submits, waiting endlessly long days off and then get a rejection with a hair-raising reasons. Then one tries to correct all kind of (often enough you do not even know me, what to correct at all), there is a sufficient waiting endlessly again and again gets the same or a similar nonsensical error description. In particular, the long waits of sometimes up to 2 weeks or more have many bada developers robbed the nerve and are certainly one of the reasons that bada has always been undersupplied with apps.
Precisely with this expectation, I'm approached the certification of my first Tizen apps.
Otherwise, it runs really almost as off as one of the Samsung Appstore is usual.
The result will be notified by email and you also receive back a report consisting of text, images and possibly video.
Error in the app are documented by testers with pictures or videos, we already know that from the bada app certification. What is new is that for native apps also equal to a log file is now and again also sent directly from the device of the tester. This helps tremendously when troubleshooting, especially if in of the error message described by the tester about ‘Do not go!‘ reads.
Have the testers nothing to complain about, you can expect a positive result after a few days. Both Marco and I have in the course of Port-a-thons some even had a positive result even in less than 24 hours after submitting the app. At best bada times that has always lasted at least 1 week, sometimes two.
Just as with Samsung Apps Tizen is the store certification currently completely free for developers.
So Samsung seems to have really made easier to make the certification of Tizen Apps enjoyable and for us developers. Alone, that one need not always wait 1-2 weeks to get any results at all, is already a huge plus point in comparison to the certification of bada apps. Whether that remains in the future, it is of course uncertain.
