Tizen Developer Summit

On 11 and 12 November this year will take place the first Tizen Developer Summit in Seoul. A conference designed for developers or Tizen Tizen app developers. It is on Monday the 11th November first, a series of lectures and in connection to a Tizen hackathon going until Tuesday evening. The lecture program can here already be seen.

Particularly noteworthy here is a small passage in the description of one of the program points on Monday. It is a lecture on the topic “Android Apps auf Tizen” give (something that is planned was known), to which even the following is written:

Getting started is easy, as ACL allows unmodified Android apps to execute on the millions of Tizen devices expected to ship in 2013.

First sounds exciting as the Tizen Group this year will still sell millions of Tizen devices where so apparently not even a finished device is in the starting blocks. But if you have a little looking, you can find the same text in a Presentation for Tizen Developer Conference in May this year.

So it looks unfortunately still does not look as if they could count on freely acquirable Tizen devices in the near future. Our internal estimate is still that there is to buy the first Tizen smartphone until 2014. Presumably then but even with Tizen 3.0. To this end, it will hopefully give some more information next week.
